To help build the next generation of DAPE professionals, the MNDAPE Leadership Committee created the Future Professional Award for undergraduate and/or graduate students who aspire to work in the DAPE teaching profession. By honoring these future professionals, we aim to inspire others to enter this vital field and contribute to its continued growth and advancement, ensuring that all individuals have access to quality physical education and the lifelong benefits of an active lifestyle.
A Future Professional...
-exhibits enthusiasm for promoting physical activity and well-being for individuals with disabilities.
-shows initiative in learning about DAPE and advocating for inclusive practices.
-demonstrates leadership qualities among peers, such as taking initiative, motivating others, and sharing knowledge.
-communicates effectively and respectfully with individuals with disabilities, peers, and instructors
-demonstrates a desire to make a positive impact in the field.
Eligibility:
-undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in a DAPE licensure program
- must be nominated by an advisor or teacher/professor (no self-nominations)
DUE DATE: June 15th
Award winner receives a plaque and is recognized at the annual MNDAPE conference.
